This isn't unique to tennis, but the sport's relentless schedule makes it worse than most tours. Golf players have more breathing room. So do cyclists. Tennis demands constant travel and mental focus across 52 weeks. Miss that one week and you're waiting another full year.

The players who got married last week understood the reality. Commit during the only window available or don't commit at all. That's the trade-off for competing at elite tennis level.
