Aston Villa picked up a win against Newcastle, with Johan Manzambi scoring the decisive goal. The moment carried extra weight because Manzambi turned down Newcastle to join Villa Park instead.
Villa have found their form again, and this result proved they made the right call on the forward. Manzambi's goal showed exactly what Newcastle passed up when he chose the Midlands over St. James' Park. It's the kind of performance that stings for Newcastle supporters, watching a player they could have had deliver for their rivals.
The win keeps Villa's momentum rolling. Manzambi's decision to move to Villa rather than Newcastle underscores where each club stands right now. Newcastle had their chance. Villa got their man, and he delivered when it counted.
