Terry McLaurin exited Monday night's loss to San Francisco in an air cast after suffering a left knee injury. The Commanders star receiver got carted off the field, and Washington fears the damage is significant. He undergoes additional testing Tuesday to determine the full extent.

McLaurin has been the Commanders' most consistent pass catcher this season. Losing him for any stretch puts real pressure on whoever lines up outside going forward. The receiving corps already had questions before tonight. Now those questions get a lot louder.

The Commanders couldn't afford this loss or this injury. They dropped the game to the 49ers on a night when they needed both the win and to stay healthy heading into the stretch run.
