The Thunder lost both Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace to surgery. Williams underwent ankle surgery and will miss indefinite time. Wallace had shoulder surgery and faces the same timeline for return.
This hits OKC's backcourt hard. Williams has been a centerpiece of the Thunder's offense this season, and losing him creates a massive hole. Wallace, the young guard acquired in the draft, was developing into a rotation piece. Now the Thunder scramble to cover both positions.
The Thunder have no timeline for either player's return. "Indefinitely" means weeks at minimum, possibly longer depending on how surgery and rehab progress. OKC will need reserves to step up immediately while the front office weighs whether moves become necessary to stay competitive in a loaded Western Conference.
