John Mobley Jr. rolled his right ankle late in Ohio State's exhibition win over Butler and has not returned to the court since. Head coach Jake Diebler said Wednesday that the team does not anticipate the injury keeping Mobley sidelined for long, though Diebler noted they are being cautious. "We're not in a position to say we're going to be missing anybody yet," Diebler said.
Mobley, a 6-foot-2 junior guard, averaged 15.7 points and 2.8 assists last season while shooting 41.1 percent from three. He scored in double digits in 25 of the Buckeyes' 31 games. He was named to the All-Big Ten Preseason First Team this month and the Jerry West Preseason Watch List this week.
Ohio State opens its season Monday against BYU in Salt Lake City.
