Sergio Perez signed a multi-year extension to stay with Cadillac through 2029. The 36-year-old joined the American F1 team last August before their debut season and will race alongside Valtteri Bottas. Perez makes his 300th Grand Prix start this weekend in Mexico City.

Red Bull dropped Perez at the end of 2024 after concluding he had run out of time to support Max Verstappen. He won six career grands prix, including five with Red Bull between 2021-24, and finished second in the 2023 drivers' championship.

Perez currently sits last in the 2026 standings with three 14th-place finishes as his best results. Neither he nor Bottas has scored a point for Cadillac.

"Joining Cadillac from day one was a project I truly believed in, and extending my commitment feels like a natural continuation of this chapter," Perez said. "Building a Formula One team from the ground up takes time, relentless work and patience, but the progress we are making together is incredibly rewarding. There is still a lot of work ahead of us and I am fully committed to the next three years."
