Inter and AC Milan unveiled their plan for a new 71,500-seat stadium to replace San Siro. The stadium will be named Generali Stadium after the Italian insurance company paid €650 million for naming rights over 20 years. It opens in the 2031-2032 season, timed for Euro 2032 co-hosted by Italy and Turkiye. Construction starts in 2028. The current San Siro, built in 1926, gets demolished only after the new stadium is ready.

Foster + Partners and MANICA designed the arena around an X-frame structure and double-curved roof. The bowl features two seating tiers creating 360-degree sightlines. The Curvas at either end rise as steep walls with inclinations up to 37 degrees to amplify atmosphere. The acoustic design aims to capture and intensify crowd energy.

Both clubs will continue sharing the stadium, a tradition that began in the late 1940s when Inter moved to San Siro. The Milan City Council approved the sale of the current stadium to the two clubs in 2025.
